Since the 1950s, every Ferrari California model has stood as a classic in the automotive world. The new Ferrari California T embodies elegant character, extraordinary sporting performance, versatile functionality, and Ferrari's uniquely prestigious quality.
The California T not only inherits Ferrari's racing DNA but also offers practicality and comfort with its folding hardtop and 2+ configuration. Like all Ferrari models, the California T incorporates numerous advanced technological solutions, most notably the new turbocharged V8 engine. Turbo technology holds an important place in Ferrari's manufacturing tradition, having been used in supercars like the 1984 GTO and 1987 F40, and now returns in Ferrari's latest F1 single-seater race cars. Maranello's engineers have created an excellent engine that combines Ferrari's classic engine characteristics with the advantages of turbo technology. This engine has compact dimensions and an extremely high power coefficient, featuring the precise response of a classic engine, ultimate performance, powerful acceleration at different speeds, and thrilling sound, while significantly reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
The California T accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and from zero to 200 km/h in only 11.2 seconds. Compared to the previous California model, fuel efficiency has improved by approximately 15%, while power has increased by 70CV and 7th gear torque by 49%. Combined cycle emissions have been reduced to 250 g/km, equivalent to a 20% reduction in CO2 power ratio (0.44 gr/cv). The vehicle's range has consequently increased by 15%.
Meticulous design work has successfully maintained the dimensions of the previous model while giving the California T a distinctive personality. Ferrari Styling Centre collaborated with Pininfarina to create the California T's proportions, consistent with Ferrari's front-engine design philosophy.
The California T's cabin design follows ergonomic principles, decorated with premium Frau semi-aniline leather, exhibiting exquisite craftsmanship and a warm atmosphere. Additionally, the vehicle's space can be flexibly adjusted; the trunk can connect with the rear seats, allowing full utilization of the trunk space even when the roof is retracted.
The California T uses a human-machine interface system, integrating Ferrari's steering wheel with various control systems. The TPE (Turbo Performance Engineer) controller is located centrally on the dashboard between two air vents. This advanced device features a touch-sensitive frame and digital display screen, with prompts to guide users in fully utilizing the new engine's performance. The California T also has a new infotainment system, including a striking 6.5-inch high-definition display with both touchscreen and traditional control buttons.
